Gen. Muhoozi Backs Kutesa’s Daughter For Mawogola North County Seat

First Son Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has reminded Ugandans that he is a soldier and not a politician as some would want to project him.

The Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations was speaking during the launch of “Goberera” at Sembabule Playground on Friday.

He then heaped praises on Shartis Musherure, the daughter of Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa, saying she has the qualities of a good leader.

Musherure is aspiring to replace her father as Mawogola North County Member of Parliament in 2021 general elections.

The same seat is being sought after by Godfrey Aine Kaguta Sodo, President Museveni’s younger brother.

“As you know, I am a soldier, I am not a politician but I have known Shartsi for a long time and what I can say about her is that she is a born-again Christian,” Muhoozi said.

He went on: “She loves God so much and when she takes on an assignment, she does it wholeheartedly.”

Musherure is Muhoozi’s in-law and a twin sister to his wife.

“What I know about her is that, she is religious, trustworthy and not a thief,” told his audience.

Speaking at the event, Kutesa asked NRM leaders to build the party structures right from the grass roots rather than looking at individuals.

Goberera is an initiative that was started by Ms Musherure to trace and implement all projects initiated by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and his father in the area.

Musherure, in turn, said the sole purpose of her event was to inform the youth that they are duty-bound to make a follow up on service delivery and hold leaders accountable.

A lawyer by profession, she is married to Dr Paul Musherure.

She is the Chief Executive Officer of her father’s Mbabule FM, a local radio station based in Sembabule Town.edgeug
