Who Is John Musinguzi Rujoki The New @URA_CG?

The President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta announced the appointment of John Musinguzi Rujoki as the Uganda Revenue Authority Commissioner General, replacing Doris Akol who has been in Office for five years and five months.

“By virtue of powers granted to me by the Constitution, I have appointed John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of URA. This appointment takes immediate effect,” Museveni posted on his social media pages on Sunday, March 29.

Mr. Musinguzi holds a Master’s degree in Computing and Information systems of the University of Greenwich and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics of Makerere.

He is the Senior Presidential Advisor on ICT and Investment.

Mr. Musinguzi replaces Doris Akol, whose departure from the tax body is shrouded in mystery as she was serving her second term as Commissioner-General.

Meanwhile, Ms Doris Akol has already sent a goodbye message to the team she’s been working with.

After the announcement, Akol took on social media and wrote thus;

Dear Tweeps,

Ask of tomorrow, this Twitter handle will be used by Mr. John Musinguzi. I welcome John to URA Family. It has been an absolute honour and privilege to serve Uganda as @URA_CG. May blessings and wisdom abound for you John. Signing out; D Akol.

As TheCapitaltimes family, we also wish John and Akol success in their new Journeys.
