Pearl Dairy Scandal: Two UNBS Officials Remanded Over Extortion

Statehouse Anti corruption Unit led by Lt.Col Edith Nakalama working with Uganda Police and Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), arrested three suspects who were later charged with attempts at extortion by threats to the management of Pearl Dairy Limited.

Konde Derrick (UNBS Inspector), Kiganda Stephen (UNBS Driver) and Solomon Abaho (a civilian accomplice) and others still at large, threatened to accuse the management of Pearl Dairy Farms of commiting a misdemeanour to wit sale of milk which has been rendered unfit to human consumption an offence contrary to Section 173 of the Penal Code Act.

The three appeared at Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court and were remanded to Sentema Government Prison until 30th July, 2020.
