14 Passengers Arrested Inside Box Body Truck in Nabbingo

Police in Nabbingo, a Kampala suburb has on Monday afternoon intercepted a motor vehicle (box body truck) registration number UBJ 803P and arrested 14 passengers for flouting both the Covid-19 SOPs and traffic regulations.

According to police, the interception followed observation of CCTV camera visuals showing people embarking and disembarking the truck at different points.

Upon search, 14 people were found inside the vehicle and are currently detained at Nsangi Police station.

Police says upon interrogation, the suspects said the driver, identified as Lubega Hassan, was taking them to Mpigi, Masaka, and Mbarara charging between Shs 50,000 to Shs 100,000.

Earlier this month, Police in Kabale arrested a Vehicle carrying 17 passengers disguised as Vision Group employees.

The Vehicle registration number UBJ 270L Toyota branded with Orumuri logo was carrying 7 male Congolese, 3 female Congolese, 2 male Ugandans, and 5 young Congolese taking them to Kisoro.
