According to eyewitnesses, the gruesome incident happened outside Byansi Clinic in Masaka town, where the yet to be identified LDU operative shot the cyclist thrice at point blank, killing him instantly and leaving the pregnant woman fighting for her dear life after being caught by the fourth bullet.

Eyewitnesses reveal that prior to the shooting, the LDU operative had barred the Boda-Boda cyclist from carrying the pregnant woman to her destination, reasoning that he was enforcing the COVID-19 curfew that was announced.

However, the cyclist insisted that  it was already past time for the curfew but during the scuffle he raised  his AK-47 assault rifle and pumped three bullets into the    Cyclist, leaving him in a pool of blood.

According to CCTV footage that was recorded by a camera at a nearby building, after the shooting the LDU left the Cyclist’s body lying besides the pregnant woman who was bleeding profusely and he ran away wielding his killer weapon.

The woman who was lying helplessly at the scene, was later rushed to Masaka Referral Hospital in critical condition.

However, by the time of filing this story that Uganda Police Force and  the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF), under which  the LDU militia operate, had not yet issued a statement about this gruesome murder.

It should be noted that several boda-boda cyclists and innocent Ugandans have been shot  by LDU operatives who accuse them of breaching curfew hours.
