IGP Ochola Appoints Ochom As New Director Operations

The Inspector General of police Martin Okoth Ochola has assigned AIGP Edward Ochom as the new Director operations.

Afande Edward Ochom has replaced AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi whose contract ended last week.He was ordered by IGP Okoth Ochola to hand over office to his deputy.

It’s said that IGP Mugyenyi had applied for a new contract but President Yoweri Museveni declined to renew it.

Mr. Mugyenyi has joined the list of other police Directors like AIGP Stephen Kasiima the former director traffic and road safety, Fred Yiga former Interpol Director and Haruna Isabirye, former director research and planning whose contracts were not extended.

IGP Ochola has also appointed AIGP Andrew Sorewen who has been in the ministry of education and sports as the new Director of welfare and production, Senior commissioner of police James Ocaye as Ag Director research and planning.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga confirmed the changes in the police force.

“It’s true IGP has made some few changes in the force and they are normal and in good faith,’he said.
