Uganda Confirms 19th Covid-19 Death

Health Ministry has on Wednesday afternoon confirmed one case of COVID-19 death.

The deceased is a 60-year old male Ugandan from Mbale district.

Ministry of Health officials said that the patient was presented with signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19 before he was rushed to a private facility and put under isolation.

He was then referred to Mbale Referral Hospital for management where he passed on. 16 of his contacts have been listed for tracing. This means the deaths are now at 19.

Meanwhile, the ministry has also confirmed 53 new cases of infection.

This, after results from COVID-19 tests done on August 18, 2020. This brings the total confirmed COVID cases of Ugandans to 1,656.

The cases are from Kampala (28), Wakiso, Amuru, Buikwe, Buvuma and Soroti. Others are from Kikuube, Busia and Masindi
