After announcing that he will not be participating in the 2021 presidential polls, former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president Dr Kizza Besigye has said that his next move is to fight for those who feel oppressed in their own country.

The opposition strongman announced that his plan B will focus on ousting the incumbent President Yoweri Museveni.

Addressing the public about the details of his plan B on Friday, Besigye said that in his plan, he believes that power that has been taken away from Ugandans by force will not be given back by the ballot.

Besigye said, “In this plan, we assent that the means to cause that change, to reclaim our influence is to fight. Plan B is a plan for fighting.”

Besigye however added that there is a whole wide range of fighting and fighting does not necessarily mean violence or going back to the bush.

”You can fight while sitting down. Our ancestors fought to get rid of colonial power and we have also already been fighting for sometime now and that’s why we have wounds. We have not taken out guns, but we have been fighting,” Besigye said.

Besigye noted that the country’s constitution, through Article 3, gives citizens a right to fight for their own freedom if it is not being granted.

The four-time presidential candidate, urged everyone who feels oppressed to join the plan B and put an end to the 34 year old regime of the National Resistance Movement.

“It is a fight for whoever feels that he is oppressed. Ordinary people will have to be turned into fighters and we shall draw a line between the oppressed and the oppressors,” Besigye added.
