230 Arrested In Ntungamo For Flouting Covid-19 Guidelines

Police in Ntungamo is holding 230 individuals in it’s custody that were arrested late night in a joint operation with UPDF and ISO

These individuals were ferried from the neighbouring sub counties of Rwashamaire, Rubaare,Itojo ,Rukoni and some from Sheema municipality by some aspirants who are varying for the mayoral seat on the NRM ticket into Ntungamo municipality with intention of voting for them.

According to Rwizi police spokesperson Samson Kasasira revealed that the suspects were got in the compound of Ntungamo High school ,London choice Guest house,Match and mix guest house and the rest were intercepted while in transit

“The aspirants beyond this act are also in Police custody at CPS Ntungamo that include Bukenya Ronald,Kafureeka Jacob and Akim Muhekyi”he said

They are on charges of procuretion of prohibited voters and for being Negligent likely to spread an infectious disease on SD REF 36/13/09/2020 of Ntungamo CPS

Due to the COVID19 pandemic Police has screened the group, cautioned them and released 203 people on Police bond remaining with 27 suspects in Police custody the aspirants inclusive.
