Crisis: Over 40 Nurses At Mbarara Hospital Test Positive For Covid-19

40 medical workers have been infected with COVID-19, at Mbarara regional referral hospital.

Dr. Celestine Barigye the head of the hospital on November, 14, 2020 confirmed that over Forty (40) nurses at his hospital tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

He also confirmed that a 39-year-old man from Bundibugyo also died of COVID-19 at the hospital yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health on Saturday confirmed results of Covid-19 tests done on 13 November 2020 where over 387 tested positive.

The cumulative cases are now 15,789 in Uganda.

The breakdown of the new cases are:

386 contacts and alerts: Kampala (221), Wakiso (46), Luwero (22), Masaka (14), Soroti (9), Isingiro (8), Rubanda (6), Jinja (7), Pakwach (5), Busia (4), Tororo (8), Terego (3), Koboko (3), Yumbe (3), Arua (3), Mukono (6), Gulu (2), Mbale (2), Kyotera (2), Rakai (2), Paliisa (2), Namisindwa (1), Kayunga (1), Buikwe (1), Maracha (1), Kalaki (2), Bududa (1), Mpigi (1)
