One Dead ,Scores Injured In Rest House Ministries,Fidodido Ceiling Collapse

One person has been confirmed by police to have died after the ceiling of Fido Dido ice cream parlor and rest house ministries caved in on Monday afternoon along Kampala road.

Most of the injured people were the followers of Pastor Isaac Kiweesi of Rest Church who had gone for lunch break prayers.

Police detectives from Central Police Station Kampala are currently stationed at Mulago casualties ward to ascertain the right number of people who were injured.

Deputy PRO KMP,Luke Owoyesigyire revealed that preliminary investigations show that after the caving in of the ceiling, different groups of people started taking the victims to Mulago and other health facilities in Kampala for treatment.

“At Mulago, we have more than 20 victims who were injured as a result of the collapse.But we are still looking for in other city hospitals where other victims are ”,he said.

Mama Nava a resident of Nsambya, has since succumbed to the injuries she sustained during the incident.

Her body is now at city mortuary Mulago for postmortem.
