Uganda Cranes Wallops Malawi 2-0 In AFCON 2021 Qualifiers

The Uganda Cranes team has secured a huge victory after thrashing the Malawi Flames 2-0 in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers game played at Namboole stadium on Sunday.

Emmanuel Okwi handed the Cranes a first half lead before Fahad Bayo wrapped up the contest with a debut goal in the second period.

The victory sees Uganda move onto four points from two games, level with Burkina Faso who also beat South Sudan on the same day.

For Malawi who started the day top of Group B, they drop into third spot with three points.

Amama Mbabazi congratulated the Uganda Cranes

Following the Cranes’ win against Malawi several high profile Ugandans have been pouring out their hearts as they congratulate the national soccer team for the great job.

Namboole Stadium was filled to capacity

Among those who hailed Uganda Cranes was former Presidential contender and ex-prime minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, who tweeted thus; “Congratulations Uganda Cranes for the well deserved victory. With hard work and consistency, AFRICA Cup is in our reach.”
