Tycoon Sudhir Opens Up his Kampala Shopping Malls With Strict Covid-19 SOPs

Following government’s lifting of the lockdown, Kampala shopping malls under Crane Management Services (CMS) Limited has urged tenants and clients to strictly observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put in place by the Ministry of Health

The Cube in Kisementi

The shopping malls under Crane Management include Kampala Boulevard, Electrical Plaza, Hardware Plaza, Market Plaza, Eagle Plaza, Royal Plaza and The Cube among others. They are run by Crane Management Services, the Ruparelia Group’s property management arm.

The conditions put in place at the opened shopping centers are;

1. Wear Your Face Mask

2. Sanitize

3. Observe Social Distance

4. Wash Hands

Accordingly, 24-hr Surveillance has been put in place to ensure compliance to the mentioned SOPs.

The Cube is another shopping mall re-opened for business under strict SOPs

While addressing the nation on Friday about the status of Covid-19 in Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni said that Malls, arcades and other business centres can open and must strictly follow these guidelines:

– Compliance to all SOPs

– Presence of compliance officers is a MUST.

– Corridors and access ways have to be clear

– Adequate lighting and ventilation.

– Dedicated entry and exit

– Install CCTV cameras where they are absent.

– Proper hygiene and sanitation facilities.

– Registration of shop owners and attendants is a MUST.

“Only those arcades that conform to the above guidelines will be allowed to open. In addition, failure to conform to any of the above will lead to closure,” President Museveni said.
