Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Nakawa Division Anderson Burora has been transferred to Rubaga division in a mysterious move.

Burora has been in Nakawa office for three years. He shot to spotlight while enforcing Covid-19 health guidelines when the pandemic erupted last year.

In his bid to crackdown violators of Presidential directives, Burora recently made comments on  NBS TV Eagle talk show which increased  his popularity among Kampala city dwellers especially on social media.

However, his remarks portrayed Banyankore tribesmen as leading  violations of SOPs.

While on NBSTV political show, Mr Burora said many people had turned a phone into a travel permit during the second lockdown.

Speaking in vernacular- Runyankore, he said they would give a phone to security personnel manning road tolls to “speak to higher authorities.” “GAMBA NOGU.”

Mr Burora has since issued a statement about his transfer.

“Thank You Nakawa.

3 years with You wasn’t a piece of cake but a basket of Challenge. I thank all the People, the Leaders and my Bosses (Supervisors) for the guidance. It was my Major National Deployment and I can say that I am Proud of myself.

I thank H.E The President of Uganda Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the New Appointment somewhere else. I am sure I will break even the expectations of my Deployment. I will remain Loyal to you and the aspirations of Uganda and it’s development agenda.

We’ve made Good and bad scenes but the Better Part of it, is that, we made it in the Name of Nakawa and not individual Interests.

Thank Y’all Friends, Family and Frenemies.

God Bless You. I will always call you Home.”
