Makindye Chief Magistrates Court has granted bail to popular singer Patrick Mulwana, better known as Alien Skin, who faces charges of causing grievous harm.

On Thursday, Chief Magistrate Esther Adikini set bail conditions at shs1 million cash for the artist and shs5 million non-cash for each of his three sureties. Alien Skin’s legal team successfully argued for his release, citing an agreement with the victims, including compensation.

Despite the bail, Alien Skin remains in custody as he is still embroiled in a separate case involving robbery allegations. He is accused of stealing shs480,000, an iPhone Pro 15 valued at shs3.5 million, and a wallet containing a national ID. The artist has applied for bail in the second case, which is being heard at the same Makindye court.

Background of the Case

The charges against the Sitya Danger singer arise from an altercation at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya on November 19. Alien Skin, along with his bodyguard Julius Mugabi and other unidentified individuals, allegedly assaulted hospital staff after a colleague involved in an accident passed away while receiving treatment.

The state claims that the accused caused grievous harm to Dr. Zaidi Matovu and security guards Alex Odongo and Anthony Munyanda during the incident.

Alien Skin has denied the allegations in both cases, with the legal proceedings ongoing.
