Hands On: Gen Don Nabasa Officially Takes Over Military Police Command

Change of Command at Military Police Brigade. Brig Gen Keith Katungi has handed over as Commandat MP to Maj Gen Don Nabasa.

DCDF Lt Gen Peter Elwelu presided over the function. Gen Katungi is nowt Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) contingent commander in Somalia under the Africa Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

The handover ceremony held at Makindye Military Police headquarters was presided over by the Deputy Chief of the Defense Forces Lt Gen Peter Elwelu, according to Lt. Col. Ronald Kakurungu, the deputy defense spokesman.

President Yoweri Museveni switched the two defense chiefs in late October.

Brig Katungi assumed the office of Military Police Commander in August 2020 when he took over from Brig William Bainomugisha.

Gen Nabasa assumed the office as sector one commander in December 2020 having succeeded Brig Richard Otto.
