EXCLUSIVE: Victoria University Named Among Top-100 Achievements Register In 2021 Best Innovative Institutions

Uganda’s leading private education hub, Victoria University Kampala has been included in the Oxford Academic Union’s list of ‘TOP-100’ Register ranking of best prospective innovative educational and scientific institutions for their immerse achievements amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are pleased to inform you that by the decision of the Expert Council of the Academic Union Victoria University is included to Register ‘TOP-100 Achievements,” reads an official communication from the Union.

Ms. Ann-Julia May, the Programme Coordinator of Top-100 Register lauded VU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga for steering the University’s resilience and adaptability to ensure a safe and effective educational process despite other regional institutions facing unprecedented challenges during the lockdown period.

“Throughout the crisis of 2021, the AU expert and analytical team has closely monitored the changes in the regional universities’ activities. We have noted with pleasure that Victoria University has demonstrated significant resilience and adaptability to the difficult conditions of a pandemic and provided a safe and effective educational process. You have also strengthened your competence in modern technologies and innovative solutions,” the letter further reads.

“In our opinion, you have managed to increase your competitiveness by accelerating the digitalization of educational processes. You have also strengthened your competence in modern technologies and innovative solutions.”

According to the letter the goal of the OAU Register is to compile a list of promising regional educational institutions with Victoria University the only university ranked from the East African region, and among the only three selected in Africa. Others are; University of Accra in Ghana (West Africa), and Wits University in South Africa representing the Southern Region.

The list of Register Top-100 Achievements will serve as a guideline for partnerships and consumers of educational services both national and international.

Additionally, Dr. Muganga has also been invited as a speaker this Friday, December 17, 2021, to discuss how Victoria University’s transformational education has impacted the education and lifestyle of students plus a prospective overview for its further development to revolutionalise the sector.

“We invite you. as a renowned professional, to take part in the Oxford Debate on December 17, 2021, as an expert Speaker. Your feedback on key topics of this year’s discussion will be very useful for professional educators worldwide,” the letter reads further.

The presentation of the Register ‘TOP-100. Achievements. Excellence in Science and Education’, and award ceremony will also take place on the same day in a virtual function to be deliberated via the Union’s online channels.

The ranking puts Victoria University at the helm of OAU’s list of over 2000 education institutions selected by experts for an exceptional transformation of education through innovative tools, technology, and experiential learning, which proves that the Ruparelia Group-owned institution is by far the leading private university in Uganda.
