President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has  sent a special message to his counterpart Paul Kagame of Rwanda.

The undisclosed package was delivered by Uganda ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Adonia Ayebare to Rwandan capital Kigali at Urugwiro village in the office of the president on Monday January 17th.

The foreign affairs ministry has since released photos of President Kagame meeting with Ambassador Adonia Ayebare although details of the meeting remained a secret.

Ambassador Ayebare applauded President Kagame for welcoming him “warmly receiving me at Urugwiro village evening where I delivered a message from Kaguta Museveni”,he said.

The Rwanda border with Uganda at Gatuna has been closed since February 2019 – which has seen trade between two countries tumble to near zero.

Rwanda says Uganda supports armed groups that are attempting to overthrow the Kigali administration.

Uganda denies this and accuses Kigali of infiltrating the country’s security agencies.

President Museveni’s message to Kagame has left most citizens in both two countries excited hoping that very soon the closed borders at Katuna/Gatuna will be reopened.
