The family of late Erukana Kuwe’s estate foundation has dragged a Uganda people’s defense force UPDF officer and police officers attached to Wakiso division to State House on allegations of conniving with serial grabbers to steal their land.

The land in question is located in Wakiso on Block 306, plots 2612 and 6143 at Bbira in Wakiso district and it is seated on 35 Acres.

According to the letter dated 18th Oct 2021 write by Brig Gen Moses Shaban Lukyamuzi who heads the presidential task force on land matters to the RDC Wakiso district, he informed him that their office had received a complaint from the family and administrators to the late Erukana Kuwe’s estate that one Major Kasimu Bainemugisha attached to CMI headquarters Mbuya is forcefully trying to grab their land situated on the above block and plots which measures approximately 35 Acres.

Brig.Gen Moses also informed RDC that a temporary injunction was issued against him by the High Court of Uganda land division restraining him from carrying out any development but he instead deployed soldiers on this land this going against the injunction order from Court.

Brig Moses therefore instructed RDC to convene a meeting and ensure that he resolves the issue since it falls under his jurisdiction.

However, despite all efforts to stop the Major Kasimu Beinomugisha from using the land, he instead connived with police officers attached to Wakiso division and have since forcefully taken their land, and even constructed their houses.

The implicated land grabbers have set up a quarter guard, check point manned by armed and panga-wielding men. It is reported that at times the land grabbers are always beefed up by a police van and military.

The family also wrote to the IGP explaining how Wakiso police officers have adamantly refused to execute Court orders restraining Major Kasimu Beinomugisha from stealing their land.

The family of late Erukana accuse Wakiso police officers of conniving with Major Kasimu to steal their land adding that some of them have even been given plots of land on their family land.

In a letter dated 19th Jan 2022, IGP Martin Okoth Ochola directed the Director Criminal investigation department to immediately investigate the matter and give him a conclusive report.

IGP told the CID director that the family claims that a team led by Kasimu Beinomugisha has grabbed, chased and beaten their guards, cut down the trees and destroyed their crops. Family also alleged that Beinomugisha is a serial land grabber who uses goons in support of security personnel in grabbing the land and defying court orders.

You therefore have the matter investigated, criminals arrested, prosecuted and court orders implemented.
