The vice chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Eastern region Captain Mike Mukula has cautioned the chairperson of the party’s electoral commission Dr. Tanga Odoi to sober up while commenting about issues he lacks enough knowledge about.

Mukula’s comment follow Dr. Tanga odoi’s statement he made after Emmanuel Omoding an independent candidate was declared the winner of the Serere county by election asserting that the NRM candidate lost because of the party internal differences in Eastern Region to the extent that party vice chairperson in Eastern region Mike Mukula campaigned for the independent candidate Omoding instead of the party flag bearer.

Addressing a press conference in Kampala, Mukula revealed that he failed to campaign for any candidate in the Serere by-elections because both the late Okabe’s son Emmanuel Omoding and the NRM flag bearer Phillip Oucor are his great friends. Mukula added that the voters choose the late’s son since the late Okabe had positively impacted their area and so they put their hope in his son to accomplish his missions and projects.

Mukula also revealed that he wrote to the president informing him about his conflict of interest which might bring about divisions in the area thus appealing to the president to provide a job to the NRM candidate Phillip who lost in the by elections.

The Serere district returning officer declared Omoding as the winner with 15638 while his closest rival Phillip Oucor of the NRM got 13206 votes.freeman
