Big Story: Tragedy As Wife Guns Down Tycoon Katanga At Home In Mbuya

Police in Kampala have started investigations under circumstances where a woman shot dead a Kampala business manĀ  Henry Katanga in a domestic brawl at his home near Rivinio apartments in Mbuya,a leafy Kampala suburb.

Preliminary investigations indicate that
the incident happened on 2nd November 2023, after the Katanga returned home on Thursday night and started having a heated debate with his wife Molly Katanga whom he always accused of having offside games.

According to Bugolobi police boss ASP Ogwang Peter said that he rushed at scene after receiving phone call that there was murder by shooting in Mbuya hill, Nakawa division in Kampala district.

Police discovered the body of Katanga lying in a pool of blood on the mattress which was down in the master bed room with a wound on the head as a result of a bullet.

Tricia Katanga,a daughter who was at home by the time of shooting revealed that her father first had a serious misunderstanding with her mother Molly in the sitting room before they could go to sleep which let to intervene for the couple to calm down. Later on,at around 9pm, she heard a gun shot in the house.

She rushed to her parents bed room andĀ  found Mr Katanga leaning on the bed with blood coming out of his head and her mother lying on the ground unconscious.

Her mother was rushed to IHK hospital for treatment by the family members before arrival of police.

Police led by DIGP Katsigazi Tumusiime, also in attendance of KMP Commander, RPC, RCIO, OC station Jinja road.
A pistol no.UG 16222 00061 CZ99 COMPACT which was used in the shooting was recovered.

Some family members who were at the home at time of the incidence were arrested as investigations into matter are ongoing.
