FIFA Secratary General Samouri Promises FUFA More Funding

Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Secretary General Fatma Samoura who has been in Uganda for a two day working visit has pledged to lobby for more funding of Federation of Uganda Football associations.

The football family, government leaders and general sports fraternity warmly welcomed this high profile FIFA official on her first ever visit to Uganda.

She was welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by top FUFA officials.

Samoura commissioned the official opening of the extension to the FUFA Headquarters at Mengo and the nearby Kadiba project.

The extended headquarters include a state of Art 3-storied building and a bungalow house sitting on approximately 0.8 acres.

The project was funded by the FIFA Forward 1.0 under the FIFA Presidency of Mr. Gianni Infantino costing about 800,000 USD in acquisition of the land and construction costs.

The event was graced by the minister of state for sports Hon. Hamson Obua, UOC president William Blick, who is also the IOC Board Member, Buganda Kingdom sports minister Owek.Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu, Commissioner in the ministry of education and sports Omara Apitta, Honary FUFA President Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, Uganda Cranes head coach Johnatan Mckinstry, FUFA delegates, Judicial Bodies, USPA President Patrick Kanyomozi, UPL Board Chairman Arianitwe Rugendo, UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani, Mariam Mpaata (runs the global goals project), Gunter Lunge, FUFA staff among others.
