A waitress working with a pork joint in Kafunda trading centre, Bulago, Wakiso district has been arrested for allegedly beheading her two-month-old baby.

It is reported that Ronah Nakazibwe used a panga and a knife to kill her baby, Precious yesterday, Wednesday. Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala police spokesperson, said Nakazibwe also attempted to commit suicide after the act by cutting her wrist so she could bleed to death.

Shocked by the act, residents in the area alerted local leaders and police. Bulaga police have since embarked on investigations to unearth all whatever could have triggered Nakazibwe to kill her own child.

Nakazibwe has since been rushed to Family Clinic in Bulaga trading centre where she is nursing wounds she sustained while attempting to commit suicide.

Detectives recovered among other exhibits from the scene; two pangas and one knife all covered with bloodstains. Precious’ body has been taken to City mortuary, Mulago hospital for post-mortem.

This incident comes on the heels of an on-going investigation to establish why another woman, Juliet Naggayi allegedly dumped her nine-year-old son in a swamp in Kabulengwa in Nansana, Wakiso district on Sunday night. Naggayi allegedly picked Lukwago while he was sleeping and threw him in a swamp. He was however rescued by passers-by.

Deputy police spokesperson, Polly Namaye, said Naggayi filed a case of disappearance at Kabumbi police and also informed her husband that the child had gone missing.

According to police, after being rescued, the boy narrated that it was his own mother who dumped him in the swamp. The boy explained that he survived drowning because he held himself on the grass.
