“As People Power, we have been receiving numerous calls from across the country on how we can give help because the lockdown has affected many people. We could not give immediate help to these people given our little resources, but we have decided to take advantage of the national taskforce,” he said.

The items were delivered to the Ministry of Health by People Power leader of women’s league Ms Flavia Kalule.

Health Minister Dr Ruth Aceng received the items and asked them to encourage their supporters to maintain social distance as one of the guidelines issued by the government to fight Covid-19.

“I want to appreciate the People Power movement for this donation. Every contribution matters from wherever it is coming from. I want to pledge that this donation that you have made today, will be distributed to women in the rural areas as you have requested,” she said.
