On Friday, August 29th, singer Bebe Cool released the video for Hidden Agendas, another single off his Break the Chains album.
The song which immediately became a fans favourite when the album dropped in May, is an afro beats smooth melodious earworm that talks about humans in different ways.

But of course, much of this is easy to miss in the lyrics because of the Pidgin.
The video however, directed by Garrick Williams, the same director behind Motivation and Circumference, tries so much to piece the song together which gives it meaning.

The song is about a man (Bebe Cool), who follows his friends to the depth, only to learn that they were setting him up.
The video starts off with an elderly Bebe Cool telling his grandchildren a story – the story is the song.

We have Bebe Cool in the mines, walking around with his team, and later, in an office signing some documents, only to get arrested later.
Then there’s that look he gives his friends as his being whisked away by the police.
But one thing that stands out in all this, are the details; Bebe Cool tapped the film industry for the casting.
Usually, music videos tend to cast models as the love interests or protagonists, yet, this particular video went a different way.

From casting agent and talent scout- Kasule Douglas Benda, the video brought together actors Angel Toni Acer, Christiano Okitwi, and Crispus Ogwal, as Hidden Agendas.

Angel Toni has over the years been growing both as an actor and producer, many locals may know him for his role opposite Cindy Sanyu, as a love interest on the TV dramas- Crossroads, while Okitwi was the face behind a controversial MTN advert.

But besides all that, on set, was another industry player, makeup artist, Esther Nakaziba, also the name behind the famous Karakta Makeup and Costume Festival.

Hidden Agendas is the third video Bebe Cool has released off his new album, Break the Chains.
The deliberate inclusion of professional actors and seasoned film creatives in Hidden Agendas signals a bold shift in how Ugandan music videos are conceived. It goes beyond showcasing a song, to telling a cinematic story one that blurs the line between music and film.

For Bebe Cool, this is more than just another release; it is an artistic statement that elevates his album Break the Chains into a visual experience. In many ways, the video reflects the growing collaboration between Uganda’s music and film industries, a partnership that could redefine how stories are told on screen and in song.
