Muhumuza Remanded To Luzira Maximum Prison For Picking Scrap At State House Nakasero

A 28-year-old man has been remanded to Luzira Maximum Prison for picking scrap from State House Nakasero in Kampala.

Abraham Muhumuza a crap dealer and resident of Wakiso district appeared before Buganda Road Court grade One magistrate Winnie Nankya Jatiko who charged him with trespass.

Prosecution states that on 30th November 2023 with an intent to annoy and intimidate Special Forces Command -SFC soldiers on guard, he entered into State House Nakasero.

He claimed he had gone to pick scrap.

He has pleaded not guilty and has been sent on remand at Luzira prison until the 19th of January 2024.

Prosecution’s Allan Mucunguzi says its inquiries are complete and he is ready to present witnesses.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old casual worker in Arua Park has been arraigned before Buganda Road Magistrates Court and remanded to Luzira Prison over the aggravated robbery of 160,000 shillings.

James Alionzi a resident of Ttula zone Kawempe Division in Kampala District appeared before grade one magistrate Siena Owomugisha who read him a charge of aggravated robbery.

The Prosecution insists that the accused and others still on the run on December 10th, 2023 at Arua Park in Kampala, they robbed one Deng Atem of cash amounting to 160,000 shillings and after the said robbery used a deadly weapon against the victim.

He has now been ordered to return to Court on January 25th, 2024.Credit: (capital radio)
