Greater Masaka Police Boss CP Maate Collapses,Dies Mysteriously

The Head of Operations and Law Enforcement in the Sango Bay Oil Palm Project, Commissioner of Police Godfrey Matte has been pronounced dead under mysterious circumstances, Entebbe Post has learnt.

Matte who served as District Police Commander in Kalangala, Regional Police Commander in Jinja among other portfolios is said to have been taken to a clinic in Kyotera at around 11.30 pm in the night where he made his last breathe.

The officer had served under the Palm Oil projected managed by Oil Palm Uganda Limited, a subsidiary of Bidco Uganda Limited for more than a year.

“Information received of the sudden death of CP Mate attached to operation Sangobay in Kyotera district.

He has died today 19 OCT 25 at around 1130 hrs from Doctors clinic located in Kakuto trading center, Kakuto sub county, Kyotera district.

A team of police officers heading to the scene. An ambulance has also been dispatched from Kalisizo hospital to the scene to transport the body to Masaka regional referral hospital.Entebbepost.
