Tycoon Basajjabalaba Family Mourns Matriarch Hajjat Azida Nanteza

The family of prominent businessman and NRM Entrepreneurs League vice chairman, Hajj Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba, is mourning the passing of their beloved mother, Hajjat Azida Nanteza Basajjabalaba.

Hajjat Nanteza breathed her last on Monday evening in Cologne, Germany, where she had been receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness. Family sources revealed that she was in her 80s and had been battling health complications for some time.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Basajjabalaba family confirmed her passing and requested privacy as they make funeral arrangements.

Kampala International University (KIU), where Hajj Basajjabalaba serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, also issued a condolence message expressing grief over the loss.> “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Hajjat Azida Nanteza Basajjabalaba, the beloved mother of our Chairman, Board of Trustees, Hajj Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba. The KIU community stands in solidarity with the Basajjabalaba family during this difficult time,” the statement read.

Hajjat Nanteza is remembered as a devout Muslim, a pillar of strength in her family, and a respected figure in her community.

Details regarding the repatriation of her body and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
