Bushenyi, Uganda – The Director of Mobilisation for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and Member of Parliament for Igara East, Hon. Michael Maranga Mawanda, has called on residents to fully support and vote for all National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s anticipated campaign engagements.

Addressing NRM and PLU supporters in Bushenyi today, Hon. Mawanda emphasized the importance of party unity, noting that independent candidates or those from other parties often struggle to deliver for their constituencies once elected.

“We must support every NRM flag bearer. Those who come as independents or from other parties spend more time fighting in Parliament instead of advancing development for their people,” Mawanda said.

He also urged all LC1 chairpersons to actively mobilize their communities to ensure votes for NRM candidates, emphasizing that party structures are critical to electoral success.

“If you are an LC1 chairperson and not part of the NRM structure, yet cannot mobilize support for NRM candidates, then you are letting your community down,” he added.

Mawanda highlighted the importance of delivering strong support for the presidency, stating that if NRM secures 11 million votes plus one, President Museveni would be assured victory in the forthcoming elections.

President Museveni is expected to visit Bushenyi District as part of his ongoing electoral season engagements, ahead of the 2026 general elections.
