The National Resistance Movement (NRM) fraternity is mourning the death of Moses Karangwa Kalisa, the NRM Chairperson for Kayunga District and Senior Presidential Advisor, who died in a tragic road accident.

The news of Karangwa’s passing was announced with deep sorrow by leaders within the ruling party, who described him as a dedicated and loyal cadre who served the NRM with commitment for many years.

Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda, eulogized the late Karangwa as a steadfast mobiliser and a dependable pillar of the party in Kayunga District and beyond.
“It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of the Senior Presidential Advisor and Chairperson of NRM Kayunga District, Moses Karangwa Kalisa, following a tragic accident. He was a valued member of our mighty party, the National Resistance Movement, and he will be remembered for his loyalty to the party,” Babalanda said.

She extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and the people of Kayunga District during this difficult time, noting that the deceased had played a critical role in strengthening the party’s structures and mobilising support for the NRM in the region.

Karangwa was widely respected for his political guidance and his unwavering support for the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Over the years, he remained an influential figure in local and national politics, offering counsel on governance and party affairs.

His sudden death has sent shockwaves across the political divide, with leaders and supporters expressing grief and paying tribute to his service to the country and the ruling party.

Details surrounding the fatal accident had not yet been fully disclosed by press time.
Minister Babalanda said burial arrangements and official funeral programmes will be communicated to the public later.

Karangwa’s death leaves a significant gap in the NRM leadership structure in Kayunga District, where he was regarded as a unifying figure and seasoned political mobiliser.
