Celebrated Journalist Male Deogratius Escapes From Uganda Weeks After His Attack

Renowned Hoima post and Metro FM journalist Male Deogratius alias Omusawo Tintah has escaped from Uganda weeks after his attack and battering by unknown goons near his home.
Male Deogratius was on 15th April 2024 night at around 10pm attacked and badly beaten by unknown goons near his home at Kubadongo, Salama road, Makindye Division Council, Kampala Capital City Authority.

He was quickly rushed to Good Samaritan Clinic, Makindye, where he received treatment.

We have been now reliably informed that on Sunday he exited the country to Canada where he is seeking asylum after his attackers cautioned him against writing and advocating for the. Human rights and LGBTQ rights on his website “www.hoimapost.co.ug”

It should be noted that after his attack Male said that his attackers who made away with nothing cautioned him to stop writing stories and advocating for human rights and LGBTQ rights failure to adhere will endanger him and his entire family since they have every bit of detail of him and his family.

He also revealed that on several occasions he received threatening text messages from unknown numbers instructing him to abandon the advocacy for Human rights and LGBTQ rights.
It should be noted that Anti Homosexuality law enacted in May 2023 punishes consensual same-sex relations with life imprisonment.

The law has potential ramifications for the press beyond sourcing issues. Anyone convicted of printing, broadcasting, or distributing material “promoting or encouraging homosexuality” could be imprisoned for 20 years.

Male Deogratius alias Omusawo Tintah is a renowned journalist, and entertainment radio presenter, passionate about matters of human rights.
