UPC Mourns Kaberamaido District Party Chairman

The Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena has eulogized the Kaberamaido District Party chairman comrade Thomas Elemu Koptek.

The great man suffered a short illness on Sunday 23 June 2024 and died the a few hours that followed on.

In the press statement released by the head of communication Faizo Muzeyi on Wednesday, it revealed that as a party,it has lost a strong mobiliser not only in Kaberamaido District,but also in Teso region and the entire country.

“When the Party President Hon.Jimmy embarked on massive mobilisation around the country,the deceased was in full support .Hon.Akena called upon members preparation for 2026, Koptek heeded to his call and has been doing a lot work in his district.We have lost Comrade Koptek at a time when his mobilisation skills,talents and other services are most needed”,the statement read.

The burial of our District Chairman, beloved father and brother is scheduled for Thursday 27 June 2024.

In honour of his legacy, the Party is in touch with the family to give Comrade Thomas Elemu Koptek a befitting final sendoff.

The Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena is expected to attend the burial.
