Mukono PDM Boss Ntongo Jailed Over Theft Of Funds

Hadijjah Ntongo, the treasurer of Seeta Nazigo PDM SACCO, before the Magistrate Grade 1 Court of Nakisunga, Mukono District.

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) has arraigned Hadijjah Ntongo, the treasurer of Seeta Nazigo PDM SACCO, before the Magistrate Grade 1 Court of Nakisunga, Mukono District, on two charges of theft.

In a statement released by SHACU on July 10, 2024, the accused allegedly stole PDM money from her SACCO in the month of October 2023 by fraudulently changing the details of the actual beneficiaries.

“The actual beneficiaries of the PDM SACCO were identified as Jackson Luyima and Denis Kiryowa, to whom the accused changed their details and replaced them with those of her children, to whom she credited UGX 1.4 million,” the statement reads in part.

Hadijjah Ntongo was remanded until July 17, 2024.

SHACU arraigned the accused together with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP).(nexus media)
