The President of Uganda Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been applauded for building a strong foundation leading to a strong, reliant, disciplined and professional Army – the Uganda People’s Defence Forces

During the launch of the 16th Edition of The CDF – Cup Tournament ,the DRCC Central Division Mr Businge Emmanuel commended the UPDF for ensuring peace and securing the territorial boundaries of the Country.

He specifically singled out the success of the “Operation Shujja ” in the Eastern DRCC that has created a buffer zone for Ugandans to enjoy peace and called upon people to make use of the conducive environment to engage in constructive and productive business among the successful endeavors of the Force .

With the many achievements under his able leadership, the DRCC singled out professionalistion of the Army as the greatest milestone of H.E the President, given the past records of the previous armies Uganda has ever had .

The people were rallied to continue supporting the President in order to safe guard the Gains attained with his able leadership .

This Edition of the CDF -Cup launched by the Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga will run from 17th September to 27 September with teams drawn from different Units competing in various disciplines like Foot Ball and net ball .

Also in attendance was the Woman Member of Parliament Fort Portal City -Hon Linda Irene ,the DRC North Division Mr Ariho Moses and the Kabarole District LCV among other leaders .
