Final Census 2024 Results To Be Released On 3rd October- UBOS

The executive Director of Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Dr Chris Mukiza has revealed that the Bureau will release the final results of the recently concluded National Census and Housing Population on 3rd October 2024 at Serena Hotel in Kampala, we have learned.

ED Mukiza’s letter

UBOS is an independent Ugandan body that is responsible for conducting the National Population and Housing Census in Uganda every ten years. The Bureau is also responsible for providing National Statistics to all government agencies in Uganda. During an exclusive interview with UBOS ED Dr Mukiza at his office based at the statistics house in Kampala says that President Museveni released temporary Census results which were about 45.9 Million people. “I promised the Nation that UBOS will release the final Census results not exceeding November 2024,” said Dr Mukiza.

He added that he is so happy to live by his words. “We are not even reaching November as I had earlier stated. Results will be released in early October,”said .

Dr Mukiza is the first Ever UBOS ED to conduct a digital Census in Uganda. On payment of Enumerators and other service providers, Dr Mukiza said that over 95% of enumerators and service providers have been paid across the Country.

He explained that the few who have not been paid have challenges in their names, Bank accounts, and issues with Tablets, and power banks among others.

He however, assured the Nation that everybody who participated in the National Census would be paid. “We have the money and we shall pay everybody who participated in the National Census,” Dr Mukiza stressed.

He said that payments will follow order and protocol.
