Jubilations As Gen Saleh Celebrates 60th Birthday

Salim Saleh (born Caleb Akandwanaho, 14 January 1960) has Tuesday January 14, 2020 clocked 60 years.

The retired Ugandan military officer who has served in the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), is a younger brother of President Museveni.

Last year, drama unfolded in Kasese town when socialite Sylvia Owori threw a birthday party for Saleh, only for the General to snub it.

The lavish birthday party was held at Margarita Hotel in Kasese town. Saleh who was then residing at his Kilembe home.

The Operation Wealth Creation [OWC] chief coordinator instead chose to celebrate with maize farmers of Rugendabara in Kasese district.

Born on January 14, 1960, Saleh on that day served a meal too farmers at Afgri premises. They sang for him a happy birthday.

He opted for a barbecued goat instead of a birthday cake, saying he would share with farmers a real farm product.

This year’s birthday found him in Kapeeka industrial park. Kapeeka is a town in Nakaseke District of the Central Region of Uganda.

Gen.Saleh With Capt Mukula

Saleh on Monday hosted Mike Mukula National Vice Chairman NRM Eastern at his Namunkekera farm.

Mukula who spent the day with Saleh said: “Spent the day today with General Saleh in kapeka he lives a simple life but remains committed to the mission of social economic transformation of the country.”

On Tuesday, Mukula tweeted: “Happy 60th Birthday General Saleh Rufu, you have been blessed by honesty, simplicity, humility and a revolutionary life. GOD BLESS YOU.”

The adviser to the President on military matters served as Minister of State for Microfinance from 2006 to 2008.e.d.g.e
