The event drew a distinguished audience, including prominent business figures such as Sudhir Ruparelia and Charles Mbiire, underscoring the significance of the publication.

“Transformative Economics” offers an in-depth analysis of Uganda’s post-colonial economic systems, evaluates current policies, and projects the nation’s future economic trajectory. Prof. Nuwagaba’s expertise as an international consultant on economic transformation and his extensive academic background enrich the insights presented in the book.

Prof. Ben Twinomugisha, a law professor at Makerere University, attended the launch and expressed his appreciation, stating, “Prof. Nuwagaba gave a synopsis of the book. He broke down its major concepts. I believe as a non-economist, I can embark on reading it and hopefully follow the thesis. Thanks for the gem, Augustus.”

Odrek Rwabwogo also commended Prof. Nuwagaba’s contribution, highlighting the book’s timely relevance to Uganda’s economic discourse.

He emphasized the need for a deeper focus on strengthening firms as engines of transformation, fostering a collective national ethic, and enhancing understanding of export markets to maximize returns on investments.

Prof. Nuwagaba’s appointment as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda, coupled with the release of “Transformative Economics,” marks a significant milestone in his career. His dedication to shaping Uganda’s economic policies and thought leadership is poised to influence the nation’s economic landscape profoundly.

The high-profile attendance at the launch event reflects the broad recognition of Prof. Nuwagaba’s work and its potential impact on Uganda’s economic future.

As stakeholders from various sectors engage with the insights presented in “Transformative Economics,” the discourse on Uganda’s economic transformation is set to advance meaningfully.
