Kazo District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Jennifer Rwaburibate Muheesi, has been honored for her outstanding support to education and community development.

The workaholic legislator was hailed on Thursday, April 3, 2025, during a thanksgiving ceremony at Kagaramira Primary School in Nkungu Sub-County.

The event was held to celebrate the school’s excellent performance in the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), where it topped Nkungu Sub-County and ranked fifth in Kazo District with 19 first grades and 46 second grades.

During the thanksgiving service, which was led by Rev. Canon Stephen Mujuni of Nkungu Archdeaconry, parents, teachers, pupils, and local leaders gathered to celebrate the school’s success.

Rev. Mujuni urged all stakeholders to stay committed to academic excellence and to entrust the school’s future to God for even greater achievements.

“Education is the foundation of a bright future, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that our children receive the best. We must continue supporting our schools and entrusting their progress to God,” he said.

During the event, Jonan Mugizi, representing Hon. Muheesi, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the school’s management on her behalf.

The certificate specifically recognized her generous donation of 100 iron sheets to Kagaramira Primary School, a contribution that played a significant role in enhancing the school’s infrastructure and providing a better learning environment for the students, further showcasing Hon. Muheesi’s unwavering commitment to supporting education in the district.

Mugizi appreciated the school for remembering the good things the legislator has done and honoring her contribution.

He reaffirmed that Hon. Muheesi remains committed to improving education and supporting the community.

“Hon. Muheesi is dedicated to ensuring that education remains a priority in Kazo. She is grateful for this recognition and promises even more support if given another term in the upcoming elections,” Mugizi said.

Other dignitaries present or represented included Hon. Dan Kimosho, through his PA Denis Tumuramye; Kazo LCV Chairman Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda; Hon. Seth Byaruhanga; and Mr. Angume Robert, the former District Education Officer. These leaders were all applauded for their role in supporting education and community development in the area.

In addition to her contributions to Kagaramira Primary School, Hon. Muheesi has played a broader role in promoting education and women’s empowerment across the district.

She recently supported St. Catherine Girls’ Secondary School with a clean water project in partnership with Yoshua Living Water International and led a fundraising drive for the construction of a multipurpose hall at Kazo Secondary School.

She also boosted the computer lab with computers, ensuring students have access to modern technology to enhance their learning.

Her work with women’s groups and SACCOs has also strengthened the economic foundation for many families in the district.

As the event came to a close, there was a strong call to continue working together to improve education and development in Kazo. Hon. Muheesi’s leadership was praised not only for tangible contributions but also for inspiring a collective spirit of progress and unity among the people of Kazo.
