Amb.Barbara Nekesa: A Visionary Leader Driving Uganda’s Growth Agenda

Hon. Barbara Nekesa Lumolo, the National Treasurer of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has been acknowledged as a trailblazer in Uganda’s development efforts. Honored by Public Opinions as one of the 74 Uganda Development Champions, her recognition highlights her pivotal role in advancing Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Uganda Vision 2040: A Blueprint for Transformation launched under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Uganda Vision 2040 seeks to propel the nation into an upper-middle-income economy by 2040. The plan emphasizes harnessing the country’s natural and human resources, particularly in strategic sectors like oil and gas, tourism, agriculture, ICT, and mining. Vision 2040 aims for Uganda to achieve a per capita income of USD 9,500, with key milestones set along the way.

Hon. Nekesa has been at the forefront of translating this vision into actionable strategies. In her role as the NRM’s National Treasurer.
