Born William Leonard Roberts II in Coahoma County, Mississippi, raised in Carol City, Florida, Ross gravitated to the music of street-oriented rappers like Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Luther Campbell and Ice Cube.

In Uganda, he became famous thanks to his  feud with fellow rapper 50 Cent, which began in 2008.

By the following year, 50 cent had taken to calling Ross “Officer Ricky” as the two rappers dissed each other over a series of records.

The American rapper, songwriter and record executive Rick Ross, has confirmed that he will be coming to perform in Uganda at a post covid concert.

Talent Africa, Swangz Avenue, Malembe and Kenya’s DJ Guchy are said to be behind this once in a life time concert whose dates are yet to be released.

With whatever is going on around the World (COVID19), though it is yet to be confirmed, our sources revealed that this a charity concert with proceeds going towards supporting health workers.

The former corrections officer was this year nominated in the Grammys for best rap song Gold Roses featuring Drake.
