A campaign to raise USD 60,000 (approximately Shs 210,001,860), which is needed to fly Ivan Kusasira, 39 years, out of the country for urgent kidney transplant has kicked off.

The fundraising campaign that is being conducted by friends, relatives and Good Samaritans, is at flying Kusasira to India such that can have a kidney in a bid to save his life.

Kusasira, who is suffering from acute kidney failure, is currently admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital, Kampala, where he is receiving dialysis treatment.

However, close family members reveal that doctors have since recommended a kidney transplant if his health condition is to improve, yet such medical services are not available in Uganda.

Family sources reveal that Kusasira lived a normal life until two months ago when he was diagnosed with kidney failure and was put on dialysis, although medics advise that this alone will not be enough to save his life.

It is for that reason that his family members, friends and Good Samaritans have since launched the campaign to raise the money such that he can be able to travel to India for kidney transplant.

All assistance of any form that is contributed by well-wishers shall be greatly appreciated and in case of any contributions, you can visit him at Mulago Hospital.
