Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations Gen.Muhoozi Kainerugaba hosted Her Excellency Kate Airey, the outgoing British High Commissioner to Uganda, at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) Headquarters in Mbuya.

The meeting, also attended by the newly appointed UK Defence Attaché to Uganda, Lt Col Ash Wiseman, marked a farewell visit by Ms. Airey as her tour of duty in Uganda comes to a close.

Gen Kainerugaba expressed his gratitude for Ms. Airey’s significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Uganda and the United Kingdom.

He also wished her continued success in her future endeavours.

This meeting follows their previous encounter in April, where Gen Kainerugaba was congratulated by Ms. Airey on his appointment as CDF and received a congratulatory letter from Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, British Chief of Defence Staff.

During that meeting, Gen Kainerugaba, a distinguished alumnus of the UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the strong relations between the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) and the British Armed Forces.
