Bishop Stuart University students had a taste of football, music and campus entertainment on Saturday as Coca-Cola brought its Premier League Experience to the university’s Freshers’ Ball in Mbarara City.
Held under Coca-Cola’s “Essawa Yonna Kisoboka” campus campaign, the activation featured singer Kapeke, DJ sets and entertainment from MCs Belga and Kacheche. Students also participated in games such as Matatu and Scrabble, with Coca-Cola drinks, T-shirts and other merchandise available as giveaways.
The experience added to the Freshers’ Ball celebrations, creating a space for first-year students to connect with their peers while enjoying activities beyond the classroom.

Crystal Elizabeth, a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Journalism and Media Studies, said the event offered a welcome break from her academic routine.
“The music and games, including Matatu and Scrabble, helped me relax and refresh my mind. It was a wonderful experience that gave me a chance to enjoy myself outside the classroom,” she said.
Fellow Journalism and Media Studies student Joel Nuwarinda welcomed the initiative, saying it gave students an opportunity to socialise and create memories as they began university life.
“I appreciate Coca-Cola for bringing this exciting experience to BSU. It has given us an opportunity to enjoy ourselves, interact with other students and create good memories as we begin our university journey,” Nuwarinda said.
Oris Niwamanya, a first-year Bachelor of Education in Primary student, said the activities helped strengthen friendships among students.
“The experience gave me an opportunity to connect with my friends and enjoy different activities together. The music and games made the event memorable, and I will cherish the moments we shared,” Niwamanya said.
Aaron Ariho, a first-year Bachelor of Education in Secondary student, commended the university administration for making the experience possible, noting that the activities allowed students to interact beyond their usual academic environment.

For Mark Niwagaba, another first-year Journalism and Media Studies student, winning Coca-Cola merchandise was among the highlights of the day.
“I was happy to win goodies such as Coca-Cola drinks and T-shirts. Beyond the prizes, the event gave me an opportunity to socialise with my fellow students and enjoy the entertainment,” he said.
Immaculate Amutuhaire, a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, said the live performances made the event particularly enjoyable.
“The performances by Kapeke and the MCs made the experience exciting. It was an opportunity to enjoy live music, have fun with fellow students and create unforgettable memories at the university,” she said.
The Bishop Stuart University activation forms part of Coca-Cola’s “Essawa Yonna Kisoboka” campaign, which seeks to connect with young consumers through experiences centred on their interests, including football, music, entertainment and social interaction.
By bringing the Coca-Cola Premier League Experience to campus, the brand is creating opportunities for students to enjoy their favourite activities, build connections and share memorable moments over an ice-cold Coke.
At Bishop Stuart University, the activation gave the Freshers’ Ball an extra dose of entertainment, bringing together the excitement of football, the energy of live music and the spirit of campus life.
