Wakiso Magistrates Court has summoned NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi to answer charge of uttering false information, contrary to section 115(a) of the penal code act.

Hon Kyagulanyi better known as Bobi Wine was dragged to court by city lawyer Male Kiwanuka Mabirizi who previously petitioned the Electoral Commission (EC) over Bobi Wine’s age and academic credentials.

Mabiriz argued that Bobi’s documents had discrepancies and had also lied about his age.

The ghetto gladiator as he is fondly known on Monday cleared air while addressing journalists at his new offices in Kamwokya where he admitted that he was born in 1980 not 1982 as written on his academic papers.

But lawyer Mabiriz has gone ahead to seek court redress on more two grounds where Bobi Wine is accused of obtaining registration by false pretense and uttering false documents contrary to the penal code act.
