Ex UNEB Boss Mathew Bukenya Dies At 89

The former Executive Secretary of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Mathew Bukenya is dead.

Bukenya who passed away on Sunday night according to family sources was aged 89.

The news of his passing was confirmed by the Board’s Spokesperson, Ms Jennifer Kalule in a brief statement on Monday morning.

“The Board is deeply saddened by Bukenya’s passing and that his mentorship and guidance will always be cherished by those he left behind,” said Ms Kalule, describing the late as an exemplary and inspiring leader whose legacy will continue to shine bright in the hearts of many Ugandans.

“His guidance and mentorship meant the world to the most of us in UNEB, his leadership was exemplary, guiding and inspiring,” she said.

Bukenya’s last public appearance was in July last year at the opening of new stores and an office block for UNEB in Kyambogo, where he was seen looking frail.
