Fuel station guard killed: Fuel, cash, computer taken

Greater Masaka police are investigating a case murder of a guard at Mo Gas Petrol Station. An officer who is part of the investigating team told this news site that CPL Mathias Mawanda attached to reserve Force was killed last night by unknown people. The assailants also broke in to offices, picked a laptop computer and Shs2m before drawing 30 litres of fuel from the pump. Regional Police spokesman Paul Kangave confirmed the incident. Kangave said there are strong leads in pursuance of the suspect.

“We used our canine and got some leading information. We are continuing with investigations,” he said adding, “We want to appeal to the public to coordinate with us like it has been in the past so that we fight this vice together.”

The body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago Mortuary for postmortem by second opionion and agencies
