In a long running play, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has defied his father, President Museveni’s advice, to stop tweeting. Museveni during an interview with Kenya’s KTN said Muhoozi would stop the controversial tweeting that has raised dust in Uganda and beyond.

The former UPDF Commander of land forces sent out a tweet in response saying he is an adult and “No One” can ban him from the social media site. Muhoozi has used Twitter to drum up his bid to succeed his father in 2026 and to air out a range of opinions on critical security and political issues.

It was not the first time the President was telling his son to steer clear of sensitive national and international issues after the latter’s tweets sparked condemnation. Muhoozi has continued tweeting in clear defiance of his father who promoted him to the second highest army rank weeks ago.
