Grief As Ntungamo Businessman Is Shot Dead

The Police in Kigezi region have initiated investigations to ascertain the circumstances under which a renowned businessman, Silver Turyahikayo, 50, was attacked by unknown gunmen and shot dead on Monday evening.

The deceased was allegedly attacked at around 7pm while at Kisasi village in Kamuganguzi sub-county, Kabale district.

The area Police spokesperson, Elly Maate confirmed the incident and said that at the time of the attack, the deceased was standing alone near his building when gunmen shot him three times in the stomach.

It is alleged that after the gunshots, the area residents tried to rush the victim to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

“The body has been taken to Rushoroza Health Centre IV pending postmortem,” said Maate.

He added that the area division Police Commander and the criminal investigations officer also visited the scene to establish more facts about the cause of the tragic incident as further inquiries into the matter continues.

The deceased was a resident of Mirama hills in Ntungamo district.
