Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs who doubles as the Personal Assistant to the National Chairperson National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has appointed Dr. Brenda Jessica Tibamwenda as the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the ONC.
In a press release dated 28th March 2023, Hajjat Namyalo revealed that; “By the power vested to me by Article 14 (1) of the NRM Constitution, on behalf of the NRM National Chairperson,I have appointed Dr Brenda Jessica Tibamwenda to the position of the Deputy Public Relations Officer, Office of the NRM National Chairperson- Kyambogo”.
In discharge of her duty as the Deputy Public Relations Officer, Dr. Tibamwenda will be tasked to;
• Upholding the good image of the national chairman.
• Popularizing the NRM achievements to the public
• Preparing press releases
• Building a positive relationship with the public and the media.
• Planning and producing articles in national papers.
• Addressing inquiries from the public and media.
• Tracking media coverage and trends on topical matters.
• Organizing press conferences
Who Is Dr. Brenda Jessica Tibamwenda?
Born on the 27th of July 1975 to Eng. George Waigumbilizi (RIP) and Mrs Perpetua Waigumbilizi of Iganga district in Eastern Uganda, Dr. Brenda Jessica Tibamwenda holds a B.A Education; English language and Literature and a Master’s Degree in Education from Makerere University and a PhD in Transport and Logistics.
She formerly served as the Secretary General of the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and currently works as a parttime lecturer attached to various Universities in Uganda.
In response to her appointment, Dr. Tibamwenda said, “My vast experience allows me to reach different people, understand them, their views, and be able to ably interpret and assist anyone in their dialect of circumstances, opportunity, race, and ability to impact even the least of humility.”
She added, “I thank the appointing authority for offering me this possibility to serve my country and my party (NRM). I am confident that using my experience in various fields, I will transform the image of the office of the National Chairman from good to best”.
Dr. Tibamwenda will deputize the Lwengo District LC 5 Mr. Ibrahim Kitatta who serves as the PRO in the same office.
