Health First: Tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia Takes Covid-19 Jab

City businessman and Chairman Ruparelia Group of Companies, Dr. Sudhir Ruparalia has today received his first Covid-19 Vaccine jab as a measure to safeguard himself against the deadly coronavirus disease.

Dr. Sudhir received the first Covid-19 dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine at UMC Victoria Hospital in Bukoto, Kampala. UMC is the first privately accredited medical facility granted permission by the Ministry of Health to administer vaccine doses to Ugandans.

He joins the list of prominent people in the country including the Health Minister, Dr.Jane Ruth Aceng , the First son Muhoozi Kainerugaba who have also taken the Covid jab.

Dr. Sudhir is the founder and Chairman of the Ruparelia Group of companies. He is also the Honorary Consul of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to Uganda.

Covid-19 vaccination in Uganda Kickedoff on March 10 as the Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng became the first person in the country to be vaccinated in an event that was held at Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital.

Through the Ministry of Health, Uganda received 864,000 doses of the AstraZeneca #Covid-19 vaccine from COVAX facility and an additional 100,000 doses donated by the government of India.

A year after the first Covid 19 case was registered in the country; Uganda has confirmed nearly 40,500 infections and 334 deaths.
